Northern Terminus: Canadian Border at the mid-span of the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie, which connects to Ontario's Highway 17

Routing: The longest numbered highway in the Wolverine State crosses from Ohio into the extreme southeastern corner of Michigan southeast of Erie. I-75 straddles the western shore of Lake Erie, heading northeast by Monroe and into the Downriver region, before entering into Detroit. I-75 turns northerly there, then, as it crosses into Oakland County, heads in a northwestern trend on its way up to Flint. US 23 joins in with I-75 for a 74 mile multiplex that that goes northerly by Flint, Saginaw and Bay City before leaving the Interstate near Standish. Turning northwest again, I-75 passes by West Branch and Roscommon before meeting US 127 near Grayling. There, I-75 turns north again, passing by Gaylord en route to Mackinaw City, where I-75 uses the Mackinac Bridge to cross the Straits of Mackinac and enter the Upper Peninsula at St. Ignace. I-75 trends northeasterly through the eastern Upper Peninsula up to Sault Ste. Marie, where it ends at the International Bridge, which connects with Ontario's Highway 17.
