Highway 407 - Images


Highway 407 is being extended from its current terminus at Brock Road in Pickering as far east as Harmony Road in Oshawa.  Construction started in 2013, and construction is scheduled to be complete late during the 2015 construction season.

Westerly view along Highway 7 towards the future Highway 407 underpass. The future Highway 407 overpass has been elongated in order to cross a tributary to the West Duffins Creek. Another westerly view towards the future Highway 7 grade separation. Much of the rebar has been placed for the future Highway 407E crossings of the Duffins Creek Tributary.  All that is waiting is the bridge deck to be poured.

Westney Road was closed on June 22nd, 2015 in order to complete construction of the new overpass. The Westney Road structure has been constructed just slightly to the east of the current structure. SoftStop end treatments have been used at various locations along Highway 407E.  Typically MTO uses ET-Plus end treatments on its highways.
