Looking west along westbound Highway 403 towards its terminus with Highway 2 near Ancaster. Before 1997, Highway 403 was discontinuous between Ancaster and Brantford. Traffic had to utilize Highway 2 and 53 to link between the two incongruous segments. May of 1993. |

Diagram signage for the Highway 6 interchange, located on eastbound Highway 403, about 400 metres in advance of the interchange. A
bilingual version of this sign exists to this day. May of 1993. |

Advance signage for Highway 5 located on eastbound Highway 403 in Oakville. Absolutely no reference to Dundas Street, even though I am pretty confident Highway 5 was known as Dundas Street through Halton Region, even in 1995. May of 1995. |
Regional Municipality of Peel

Advance signage for Cawthra Road and Eglinton Avenue located on eastbound Highway 403 in Mississauga. Notice the lack of reference to Eastgate Parkway. I am not sure if this omission is an error or if Eastgate Parkway did not exist in the summer of 1989.
UPDATE: Shawn Colley has graciously informed me that Eastgate Parkway was not completed until 1994-1995. Thus, the pictured sign is accurate.

Eastbound Highway 403 lanes at the Matheson Boulevard overpass in Mississauga, looking east towards the eastbound Highway 401 express lanes. The highway off to the right is the ramp that leads from the eastbound Highway 403 to the eastbound Highway 401 collector lanes. Summer of 1989. |

Looking east along the eastbound Highway 403 towards its terminus with Highway 401 in Mississauga. Notice how in the background the roadway simply curves to the right(east) without any alternate exits. In 1989, eastbound Highway 403 simply defaulted onto eastbound Highway 401 with no access to Highway 410. |
