King's Highway 73 - www.OntHighways.com

King's Highway 73 runs from Port Bruce northerly to Hamilton Road, just east of Dorchester.  Before the highway was downloaded in its entirety on January 1st, 1998, Highway 73 was the major north-south provincial connection for the community of Aylmer.  Highway 73 links Aylmer and Port Bruce with Highway 401 and London.

  Southern Terminus:  Main Street in Port Bruce.

Northern Terminus:  Highway 73 ends at the Hamilton Road junction just north of Highway 401.

Length:  39.9 km

Multiplexes:  None

Freeway: No

AADT (1994):  Highest:  5,650, from Aylmer northerly to Elgin Road 52;

                             Lowest:  1,000, from Main Street in to Bank Street in Port Bruce.

Status:  Totally downloaded in 1998.  Now known as Elgin Road 73, and Middlesex Road 73.

Road Info:  Highway 73 is quite well maintained for its entire length.  Much of it has been recently rehabilitated and is now covered with quite smooth pavement.  Traffic volumes are moderate for the entire length of Highway 73.
