Southerly view along Highway 511 from Calabogie Island towards the south channel of the Madawaska River.  This channel leads into the Calabogie Generating Station.

A small control dam is situated just upstream of the northern Madawaska River bridge.  This control dam allows excess water into the spillway, by-passing the Calabogie Generating Station.
