King's Highway 56 -   O N T   H I G H W A Y S

Highway 56 was downloaded in its entirety on April 1st, 1997.  It served the major highway connection between Highway 3 and Hamilton, Stoney Creek, and the QEW (via a continuation along Highway 20).

Southern Terminus:  Junction Highway 3 approx. 8 km east  of Cayuga

Northern Terminus:  Junction Highway's 20 & 53 at Elfrida in rural Hamilton

Length: 23.5 km

Multiplexes: None

Freeway: No

AADT (1994):  Highest:  10,700 from Binbrook Road northerly to Highway 20/53 junction;

                             Lowest:  4,600 from Highway 3 to the Haldimand-Norfolk - Hamilton Boundary.

Status:  Totally downloaded in 1997.  Now known as Haldimand-Norfolk Highway 56, and Hamilton Road 56.
